I recently read an editorial about how recent trends in video game development are grievously wounding the industry: Going Gold: Reboots and Ripoffs
This article is highly informative and offers an expert's insight on a problem that is hindering the development and innovation of the video game industry. The author has an easy flowing style and a humorous, yet bleak voice that drives the story home (for me anyway). This is someone who doesn't simply know the past in which he references, but lived it and uses these examples flawlessly to support his argument.
His arguments were structured well and each instance gave a good balance of fact and opinion. He had appropriate word choice and never got too wordy or redundant. His writing was easy to follow and never wasted a moment to get from one point to the next (aside from the few instances of light-hearted humor).
It seems to follow the nine steps pretty well and the only thing I could think of to improve this article would be to include more examples to prove his points. I have plenty more that I could discuss through experience (I was a gamer since I was two).
It was a good read if you have any interest in the Video Game Industry.
I commented on his article under the username "Fappy".
